Logan County native Charley F. Prater, 53, died Monday, Feb. 3 of injuries received in a traffic accident in Tampa, Fla. He had resided for the past 23 years in Tampa where he worked in the iron and construction industries.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John W. Prater & Bessie N. (Tucker) Prater; 1 sister, Sylvia U. (Prater) Shepard & a son, Charles G. Prater .

He is survived by his wife Doris, 4 sons John Prater of Dunnellon, FL, Michael Prater of Columbus, OH, William Prater of Tampa, FL & Cecil Prater of Jackson, MS; 2 daughters Jo Anne Prater & Stephanie (Prater) Mercer both of Tampa FL ; and 7 grandchildren

Additional survivors include 2 brothers, Russell Prater of Lakeland, Fla., and Harry Prater of Urbana; and 2 sisters, Edith (Prater) Wren of West Liberty and Doris (Prater) Biondillo of Bellefontaine.
Funeral services are scheduled Friday at 3p.m. in the Curry and Son Funeral Home in Tampa with burial to follow there.
