~Ted Alonzo Mitchell~
Ted A. Mitchell, age 73, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Yancey County, NC on February 5, 1940, he was the son of the late Frank and Marie Hensley Mitchell.
Ted was a painter by trade and had also worked in construction and steel rod building. He was a member of Ironworkers International and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. Ted was also a member of First Christian Church of Marion.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings, Nan Fender, Joyce Edwards, Ella Von Mitchell and Walter Mitchell.
He is survived by four brothers, three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home with Pastor's Bill Mitchell and Don Mitchell officiating.
Interment followed at Bradley Family Cemetery.
