Samuel Peter Nelson, 72, died early Tuesday morning at his home at 108 E. Washington Ave. following a heart attack. He had retired from work at the Shenandoah Nursery 6 years ago due to a heart condition after having been employed with the company for 50 years.
He was born in Sweden and came to this country with his parents when one year old and settled in Shenandoah where he spent the remainder of his life.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel, one son, Norris of Memphis, Tenn., and one daughter, Mrs. Kermit (Madeline) Slobb of Northbrook Ill., one brother, Ed Nelson, Shenandoah and three sisters; Mrs. Charles Almquist, Red Oak, Miss Otelia Nelson and Mrs. Joe Manchester both of Los Angeles, Calif.
