Ada Jane Devers, 87, of Smithville, MO passed away, Monday, December 9, 2013.

She was born on November 19, 1926 to Aker and Dicie Elizabeth (Shackelford) Lowman near Smithville. Ada grew up in the Smithville area and graduated from Smithville High School.

On April 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Henry Jackson Devers. After their marriage they lived in neighboring communities and eventually settled in Smithville. Her husband, Jackson, passed away, April 2, 2010.

Ada was the city clerk for the City of Smithville for many years. Ada enjoyed going to sales and auctions. She was a member of the Boots and Bows Square Dancing.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Willis Aker Lowman.

She is survived by her children, Archie Devers and wife Martha, Smithville, MO, Rebecca Zellner, Charleston, SC, and Susan Main and husband Greg, Smithville; five grandchildren, Kelly Devers, Chad Cockriel and Rhonda Stevens, Amy Hyatt and husband Josh, Kari Carr and Jimmie McKinney, and Erik Wade; five great-grandchildren; Quintin, Keenan, Kiefer, Olivia and Isabella; other relatives and many friends.
