John enlisted as a private in the Army on January 5, 1944 and served in World War II as a heavy mortar crewman for the 85th Mountain Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division.
At the conclusion of WWII, John moved back to Wichita Kansas on April 12, 1946 and later married Juanita Jean Wilkinson. They were married on September 2, 1950 in Benton, AR.
John accepted Jesus Christ early on in life and was a faithful and longtime member of First Bible Baptist Church in Wichita, KS. Throughout his life, John’s testimony and dedication to serve the Lord was at the forefront of who he was. His passion for the Lord was shared with his loving family.
