Freda Mae (Barrick) Zeigler, 90, of Mechanicsburg, died at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was born in Newville, on Wednesday, March 14, 1923, daughter of the late Ira Elder Barrick and Cleo Mae (Darr) Barrick. Freda was the widow of Dale Elwood Zeigler whom she married on March 21, 1942 and who died on February 2, 2003.

Freda's survivors include loving daughters, Freda Mae Zeigler of Mechanicsburg, Kathryn C. Snyder and her husband Bill of Carlisle; a granddaughter, Donna Christine Snyder and her companion John Lamplugh of Carlisle; two sisters, Edith M. Kuhn and her husband Albert of Carlisle, Ada L. Boldosser and her husband David of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Freda in death are her siblings, Hazel Myers, Clair Barrick and Gladys Gordon.

Freda retired from U.S. Postal Service after 27 years of service working as a clerk. Freda was a member of Saint Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Kingstown. She was also a member of the New Kingstown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and N.A.R.F.E. Freda enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and eating meals out. She especially enjoyed going to the market every week.
