OBITUARY
Maurice Frances BERNSON, 88, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died November 8, 1980 at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Ponca City.
Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church of Ponca City with Dr. Austin officiating. Burial was in the Canadian Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Chapman, pastor or the First Baptist Church, in charge.
Maurice was born August 6, 1892 to John Berndt and Susannah May (Thomas) BERNSON. Maurice moved with the family to Marysville, Kansas, when he was young and later to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Later he attended business school in Denver. BERNSON moved to Canadian in 1919. He married Alma Pearl CASSLER of Canadian in November, 1925.
Mr. BERNSON was a wholesale dealer with Mobil Oil for several years in Canadian.
He had lived in Ponca City since September.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canadian and the First Baptist Church of Ponce City. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was an amateur inventor.
Mr. BERNSON is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, John C. BERNSON of Jackson, Mississippi and Alan BERNSON of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Norma RAYMICK of Ponca City; Dorothy BERNSON of Mulvane, Kansas and Glenda McKENZIE of Welch, Oklahoma and three grandchildren.
