The deceased was born on May 30, 1911, in Richland Center to Chester and Edith (Watt) Spry. She received her education there, including graduating from Richland Center High School. She then had employments in the Neillsville A&P Store. On October 2, 1935, she married Herbert Schnabel in Neillsville ceremonies. The couple then farmed in the Town of Grant for a few years and later moved to a farm in the Town of York. Mrs. Schnabel was a member of the Zion ALC congregation and the Christian Women's Club of Marshfield.
Surviving her, besides her husband, is a son, Harlan, Granton; a daughter, Mrs. Davis (Shirley) Smith, Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Doris) Foemmel, Neillsville; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The Rev. Maynard Stokka officiated at the Zion American Lutheran Church (ALC) services in Granton with the Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville in charge of arrangements. Burial was made in the Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery in Granton. Pallbearers for the service were Bill Hiles, Ronald Gluck, Walter Schmidt, Richard Eibergen, Francis Haines and Glenn Haines. Music was offered by Jay Parker and the congregation.
Attending the services from out of town were Janice Mesar and Joyce Riedel, of Loveland, Col.; Joan Gregorich & Michelle, Appleton; Mr./Mrs. Harold Schnabel, Warner, SD; Elsa McMillan and Roger, Rossie and Maxine Benson, Shirley Bauman and Carol Craig, all of Richland Center; Lawrence and Lucille Hultman, Little Cedar, Ia.; and Mr./Mrs. Thomas Myrant and Mr./Mrs. Steve Nelson, of Madison.
