Born Auguste Wilhelmine to G. Friedrich Schuhmann and Wilhelmine Voigtel of Oberscheibe, Germany. She came to America with her parents and settled in Fayette County. Her mother died about 1855 and her father remarried. She became the wife of J.G. Kaiser of Round Top. After her husband's death from burns suffered from a canon fired during a Fourth of July celebration, Wilhelmine was left with a large family. She remarried to Gus Suehs. Gus' daughter married her son, Albert.
