Lucille was born to Elias Benjamin "Ben" Burklow and Fannie Belle (Hall) Burklow. Sadly in 1910, Fannie got breast cancer and died. Lucille being the youngest was put up for adoption.

She was adopted by Edith Quinn (Powell) Elkins and her husband George Elkins. Sadly George died the same year.

Lucille and her mother lived with her grandmother Martha Powell. In 1920 Edith married Ben Buckman, who Lucille considered her father.

In January 1929, Lucille married Clarence Bernard Christ. Together they had ten children, Martha in 1930, Mary in 1933, Margaret in 1934, Charles in 1938, Albert in 1939, Franklin in 1942, Clarence in 1943, Joann in 1946, Stephen in 1949, and Walter in 1952.

Lucille became a widow in 1966 at the age of fifty-eight years old. She died on December 1st 2003 at the age of 95 years old.
