Mr Thomas B Henley, one of our oldest settlers, as well as one of our best citizens, was taken suddenly ill while on the road from his home to Laytonville on the 6th and died on the 7th, heart disease being the cause. Mr Henley had lived in the valley for 40 years and was highly respected, a true friend to the laboring man, accomodating to his neighbors, and kind to his family. He was a native of Indiana and was born in 1836, living most of his life in Round Valley. He was buried under the auspices of the Covelo Lodge.
