Houston David Chadwick was the son of David H. and Beatrice Langley Chadwick. He was born August 9, 1895, on a Mills County ranch. He attended his early school at Locker and graduated San Saba High School in 1912. He attended Business School, served as Deputy San Saba County Clerk 1912-1914 and Assistant Cashier of San Saba National Bank 1914-1917. He entered military service in December 1917 and was discharged in 1919 as a First Sergeant. He worked for City National Bank 1919-1942, when he resigned and became manager of the Production Credit Association. He was at this position for 22 years before retiring.

He was a Rotary Club member, served on the School Board and was Mayor. He married Lavera Whitt in 1919 and they have a daughter, Mrs. Newell A. Oliver.

1st SGT U.S. ARMY - WWI
He entered the service in December 1917 at the age of 22, and was an original member of the Wiley B. Murray American Legion Post organized in 1919.
