Edward Chitwood, 76, of Winfield, died Saturday in the Scott County Hospital after an illness of four weeks.
He was the son of the late Thomas Chitwood and the late Lucinda Bell Chitwood, a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lana Davis of New Carlisle, Ohio, Mrs. Robertine Potocki of Warren, Michigan, Mrs. Lorene Wolsey of Detroit, Michigan; three sons, Jack Chitwood of Crescent Springs, Ky., Robert Chitwood of Ludlow, Ky., Eddie Chitwood of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Harry Chitwood of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; twenty grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. J.W. Blevins and Rev. Howard Walker officiating. Burial followed in the Chitwood Cemetery. West Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
