Weldon Keith Martin was born on March 1, 1929, in Muscatine, the son of Willard E. and Edith G. (Thompson) Martin. He attended Muscatine schools and joined the United States Army in March of 1946. He was in the Transportation Corp at Camp Lee, Virginia and in the MP Detachment at Camp Stoneman, Calif.
He joined the Carpenters' Union in January of 1952, and received a 50 year gold watch and a 60 year pin. He and Carol Van Delinder Bailey were married July 20, 1974, in Muscatine. Together they enjoyed buying and improving old houses for rental property or resale for 39 years. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends, going to casinos, traveling, and helping cook holiday family dinners. He always loved his family pets.
Keith attended the Methodist church, and was a member of the Muscatine American Legion Post 27 and a past member of the Eagles Lodge and the Moose.
Keith will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol of Fruitland; daughter, Teresia A. Jamtgaard and husband, John of Mason City; special grandson, Rocky Halstead and wife, Tonya; five other grandchildren; one step-grandson and several great grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bill Martin, one sister at birth, Barbara, daughter, Kim Clark and step-daughter, Debra Linville.
