Cleo C. Boone NORFOLK
Cleo C. Boone, 86, of the 1000 block of Creamer Road, died Aug. 28, 2005. A native of Goldpoint, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Luna Mae Croom and the widow of Woodrow W. Boone. She was a retired beautician and also retired from the Norfolk Public School System. She was a lifetime member of the Bayview United Church of Christ and had been active with the Willing Hands Circle and volunteered at the thrift shop. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Williams and her husband Keith of Elizabeth City, N.C.; her son, Jeffrey Boone of Norfolk; her brothers, Leighton and Alton Croom; her sister, Elizabeth Carraway; her grandson, Brian Keith Williams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bayview United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Albemarle Hospice Program, P.O. Box 189, Elizabeth City, NC 27907-0189.
