Again the Dark Angel has come to our valley. October 31 he claimed Ben Duncan, formerly of Trinity and Humboldt Counties, who with his little son, had been living here for some time. He had been in ill health for some time, but the immediate cause of his death was acute peritonitis. Our friend was born May 16,1888. He leaves five sons and two daughters to mourn his loss. The sons are Andrew, Henry, Glenn, Lee and Benny Jr who is about 8 years old. The daughters are Mary Lou, who is a registered nurse in Berkeley, and Leona aged about 6 yrs who lives in Fortuna. John Duncan, a brother is deceeased, also Tom Duncan of Long Ridge, Trinity Co who died some years ago. Services were held at the Lovell Mortuary with Rev E B DeFord speaking words of comfort. Mrs Lovell, Mrs Haydon and Harold Goodwin sang old familliar hymns. Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery
