Willie Mae (Remmert) Bowman Ramsey, 85, of Brenham, formerly of Bryan, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, with Rev. Lemuel Phillips officiating at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Wehdem. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Willie Mae was born in Brenham, Texas, to the late Wilhelm Louis Johannes (Willie John) and Anna Emilie (Ludwig) Remmert, and was raised in New Wehdem. Willie Mae was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem and educated in the New Wehdem school. She married Frank Bowman on January 12, 1952. On September 15, 1990, she married J.D. Ramsey.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by first husband, Frank Bowman on February 20, 1982; second husband J.D.; and brothers, Melvin Remmert and Wilbert "Buddy" Remmert.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Bowman and Larry Austin, of Dallas, and Rebecca Bowman, of Garland; sons, Ronald and Carlene Bowman, of Brenham, and Kenneth and Corinne Bowman, of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Brandon and Amy Bowman, of Montgomery, Brittney and Aaron Oquinn, of Havelock, NC, and Andy and Alex Bowman, both of Tallahassee, FL; great-grandchildren, Allie Oquinn, of Havelock, NC, and Claire Bowman, of Montgomery; sister, Lenora Wellmann, of Brenham; brothers, Harold and Elizabeth Remmert, Arthur and LaVerne Remmert, and Alice Remmert, all of Bellville; and 12 nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
