Robert J. Cowsert, son of Robert E. and Nellie Mason Cowsert, was born September 22, 1912 in Carroll County. At an early age he began road maintaining work in Fairfield Township. He continued heavy construction work all his life except time he spent in war plants during World War II, then returned to heavy construction. At the time of his death in 1974, he was employed by Tager Enterprises.
Bob married Helen in September, 1945.
