GREENSBORO Mr. James Curtis "Jim" Blaylock II, 44, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 16, 2005, at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service with the Rev. R.C. Avery and the Rev. Jimmy Dillon officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Blaylock was born in Greensboro on June 28, 1960, to James C. and Jeanette Brown Blaylock. He graduated from UNCG and served as university marshall and math tutor. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and belonged to Pi Mu Epsilon Math Fraternity. In 1990, he was awarded the Student Excellence Award, which was one out of only 300 awarded in the history of the school. He was an avid golfer and motorcyclist and promoted organ donor awareness.

Mr. Blaylock is survived by his mother, Jeanette Blaylock of Greensboro; two uncles, Steve Brown and his wife Brenda of Greensboro and Len Brown and his wife Susan of Statesville; special family friend, Henry J. Mueller of Seattle, Wash., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Curtis Blaylock.
