One of sixteen children, Leroy, christened Lurain Behn, was born February 9, 1893 in Hempstead, Waller County, Texas, to the union of John Mosley Behn, Sr. and Nancy Hanks Bramlett.

In 1911 Leroy married Ms. Lena Heard in Collin County, Texas. Two children were born to this union: Leroy C. Behn and Samuel Behn. He was later married to Tempie Chapple and one child was born to this union: Dorothy Behn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers: Arthur, Henry James, J.N., Prince Albert, Charlie, Thomas W., Samuel and Mosley; and two sisters: Mrs. Mattie Behn Jones and Mrs. Alverda Behn Watkins.

He is survived by his children, Leroy C., of Oklahoma, Samuel, of Berkeley, California and Dorothy; three brothers, George of Bakersfield, CA, John of Odessa, Texas, and Dr. G.E. Behn of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Mrs. Addie M. Miller of Dallas, TX, and Mrs. Julia Barbara Reid of San Francisco, California; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
