WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Evelyn L. Moats Snowberger, 84, of 315 Harrison Ave., and of Quincy United Methodist Home, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at the nursing home.

Born April 18, 1917, in Fairview, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George A. and Gertrude Irvin Moats.

She was a 1935 graduate of Quincy (Pa.) High School.

She retired in 1980 from Landis Tool Co., where she did clerical work for 28 years. She had worked at Waynesboro Knitting Mill.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fairview Ward, in Waynesboro, the Relief Society and Young Men and Young Women's organizations.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph D. "Don" Snowberger, whom she married Oct. 24, 1942; one daughter, Beverly Ann Zerbian of Lexington Park, Md.; one sister, Alice Rinehart; one brother, Glenn Moats; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Blubaugh, Belle Schultz and Maude McFerren; and three brothers, George Moats, Ray Moats and Robert Moats.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waynesboro. Bishop Gary A. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Price's Church Cemetery near Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
