North Bassett. Aged Woman of Franklin County Died in Bassett. Mrs. Emma Ann Amos died early Sunday morning at the age of 80 years and one day. Her death came after a short illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. L. Smith of this place. Before her marriage, she was a Miss Rice of Penhook, Franklin County, Va. She was a member of the Methodist church there for a number of years. Interment was made in the family burying ground Monday evening by the side of her husband. She is survived by one brother, Thomas Rice of Reidsville, N.C., four children: Mrs. Smith of this place, Mrs. Otho Smith of Penhook, Va., Joseph Amos of Rocky Mount; 52 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
