George F. Rowe, 85, Scranton, Kansas died Monday, September 14, 1998, in a Topeka hospital.

He was born October 31, 1912, at Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Samuel F. and Myrtle Willows Rowe. He grew up in Scranton and graduated from Scranton High School in 1932. Mr. Rowe was a Rural Mail Carrier for 36 years. He also was the Scranton City Clerk for seven years.

He married Ann J. McPhail, April 15, 1936, at Ottawa, Kansas. She survives at the home. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janette Cupp.

Other survivors include a daughter, Susan Salay, Topeka; 3 sons, Robert F. Rowe, Osage City, Bruce Rowe, Kansas City, MO, and Steven M. Rowe, Liberty, MO; 12 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
