Funeral services were held for Thomas George, 50, at First Lutheran Church at Cresco, Iowa, Thursday morning. Burial was in the Oak Lawn cemetery, Cresco, with military graveside rites.

Thomas George was born on February 20, 1921, in Montana, and moved to Iowa with his parents at the age of one year. He married Edith Evans on May 18, 1946.

Mr. George, a former St. Ansgar high school English instructor, taught school at Cambridge, St. Ansgar, Carpenter, Cresco and for the past five years has been librarian at Riceville. The 1957 school annual was dedicated to Mr. George.

A World War II veteran, he served at Pearl Harbor. He was graduated from Iowa State University in 1949 and has held offices in the National Education Association.

Survivors include his wife, Edith; a daughter, Mrs. John (Marian) Bauercamper of Minneapolis; a son, Jerry, a student at Iowa State University, Ames; two sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Gayle) Kvam and Shirley Bencke, both of Cresco; and step-mother, Mrs. Jessie George of Mason City.
