She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Johnnie Lee Meriweather and one daughter, Lori Michelle Meriweather; as well as her parents, Oscar Leonard and Willie Ann Payne Myers; two sisters, Mary Ann Smetzer and Joene Myers Trantham; two brothers, Sonny and Guy Myers of Greeneville, TN.
Wanda is survived by two daughters, Linda Meriweather (husband Craig) Gosselin of Aurora, CO and Karen Ann Bartell (husband Dennis) Winkle of Springfield, MO; two stepdaughters, Portia Meriweather (husband Harvey) Haxton of Clarksville, TN and Patsy Meriweather Smith of Benton, AR; one stepson, John Barry (wife Melodie) Meriweather of Beebe, AR; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wanda met and married Johnnie in Norwalk, CA in 1960. After the death of their daughter, Lori, in 1972, they moved back to Garner, AR where they jointly owned and operated K & L Machine and Toll for 20 years. Wanda was a long-time member of the Eastern Star and was a strong believer in God.
After the death of her husband, Wanda entered the Des Arc Rehab & Nursing home in October 2012. She had a life-long struggle with her weight. That struggle ultimately took her to where she wanted to go - to join her husband and family who had passed on before her.
