The death of William Burr Bowen, 82, occurred Tuesday afternoon at the residence, 221 East Monroe Street. Friends may call at the Blume-Stewart Funeral Home tonight. The body will be taken Thursday morning to Woodbury, Tenn., for the funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The deceased was born March 25, 1880 at Huntsville, Ala., the son of John and Caldonia St. John Bowen and had resided in Edgar County for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula, three children, Johnnie, Malbert and Lillard, two brothers, John and Lillard and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Tommie of Marshall, Ind., and Austin of Wilmington, Ill., five daughters, Mrs. Lucile Simmons, Mrs. Ila Hardway and Mrs. Rosie Hefner, all of Paris, Mrs. Viola Russell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Mrs. Flossie Thomas of Woodbury, Tenn., 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Bowen was a member of Church of Christ at Woodbury.
