Eva Gertrude Stedman was born in Ringgold County, Iowa, January 7, 1884, and died at the Ensworth Hospital, St. Joseph, MO., August 27, 1918, aged thirty-four years, seven months and twenty days. She was married to S. C. Rice of Delphos, IA., Jaunary 5, 1908. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Stedman. She became a Christian in early life, uniting with the Adventist Christian Church of which she remained a faithful member until the time of her death.

Although being too far removed to do active work in her own church, she took pleasure in working with her husband in the Christian Church.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, mother, four sisters and one brother besides a host of friends.

The funeral services were held from the Christian Church in Delphos, conducted by Rev. W. C. Williams of Diagonal and the body laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr.
