Nathaniel Thompson was born in 1769 in Tyron Co NC, which is now York Co SC. He was the son of John and Anne (Ewing) Thompson, who are buried in the Beersheba Cemetery there.He migrated to Maury Co TN sometime before 1820 as he is found on census records by that time.He settled in the area of McCains or Culleoka. He was married first to Jane (unknown) in NC. They had 4 children including an unmarried daughter Jane who is buried here. His first wife,Jane,died before 1843 as he married by that date, a second time to Mary Hanna Caldwell by whom he had 2 more children. Second wife, Mary, was first married to Thomas Givens Caldwell. Mary Hanna Caldwell Thompson is buried here. It is only presumed that Nathaniel is buried here, but it is highly likely due to the fact that his daughter his second wife and 4 grandchildren are all buried here,as is presumed his first wife Jane.
