As a young minister she became assistant pastor and pastor of the Warsaw Wesleyan Church. Then she organized a Wesleyan Young People's Society and served as the conference youth secretary for two years. During this time she was holding evangelistic meetings and "Kids' Krusades." In 1944 she became an ordained minister. She worked in the Free Methodist Church missionary office for a few year and then left the office when she married Dr. Wendell Hansen in 1957. He became president of Great Commission Schools in Anderson, Indiana, and she taught kindergarten at the school for a couple of years. Then she taught at Westfield-Washington Elementary School for eighteen years. During this time, Eunice, her husband and son, presented bird programs in schools & churches. The Hansen's Birds video of the performing birds has been on national television in Japan, England & Russia. They traveled extensively in several states doing bird programs with a troop of trained birds. Through this ministry many hundreds were won to the Lord. Eunice was a member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church where she directed Bible Study and was also a member of the church board for 18 years.
Eunice was a member of Hamilton County Retired Teachers Association and a former president. She was also a member of the Retired State Teachers Association. She was a volunteer chaplain at Riverview Hospital.
She had lived in Noblesville for the last 53 years. She is survived by her sister Miriam (Irvine) Bruce, her son and daughter-in-law Dean and Janet Hansen and their children Scott and Trevor. She is also survived by her step daughter Sylvia Marie and her step grandson Leif Larson. She is preceded in death by husband Wendell Hansen, brothers: Harold Irvine, James Irvine, Vernie Irvine and sister Ester (Irvine) Clark.
