Della MUSE WISE, 87 formerly of Altus, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, in Torrance, California. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Douglas Mortuary in el Segundo, California. Della WISE was born June 21, 1911 in Vera, Texas to Jackson County pioneers James Claudius and Malissia Josephine MUSE. She was raised in Hess and graduated from Hess Schools where she captained her basketball team to the Oklahoma state title game. She married John Benjamin WISE in 1932. They moved to El Segundo, California more than 50 years ago. She was an active member of her community, church, the Rotary Anns and Jaycees. WISE is survived by her husband, Johnnie WISE; her children Cheryl COOPER, Norman, J. B. WISE and his wife Terry, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Terry WISE, El Segundo, California, Dani WHITNEY, Carson City, Nevada and Keith Ray WISE, El Segundo, California; a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Ray BEACH, Altus; two sisters-in-law, Opal J. WISE, Marina Del Rey, California and Flo DAY, Pomona, California; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, five sisters, her eldest daughter Jacque WISE, Altus and youngest daughter Rebecca WISE.
