Charlie graduated from Lexington Catholic High School in 1957 and held several degrees of higher learning. After 24 years of service, he retired from the U. S. Navy where he specialized in meteorology and oceanography. After military service he worked as a realtor and as a pari-mutuels teller at various thoroughbred race tracks around the country. One of his pastime pursuits was researching and recording family history. Charlie was an active member of several veterans organizations including The Fleet Reserve Association, The American Legion, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Disabled American Veterans and The Sons of American Legion.
