Thomas Franklin Walls Sr., of Ingleside, died July 20, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. He was 81.

He was born Oct. 3, 1931 in Millington, the son of the late Elwood and Martha Blackiston Walls. Mr. Walls served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict starting in 1952, and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married Margaret Marie Walls in 1955; she would later predecease him in 2001.

He worked as a farmer with several different farms in the area until he retired in 1998. He then went to work with Queen Anne's County until his retirement in 2009. Mr. Walls remarried to Delores Bostic Allen on Aug. 23, 2008. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 652 in Millington, the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company and the Liberty Lighthouse Church in Chestertown. He enjoyed fixing old lawn mowers, his family and social hour with his friends at Parkside.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Plummer of Galena and Mary Pullen of Centreville; a son, Thomas F. Walls Jr. of Sudlersville; sisters Elsie LaPorte of Warwick, Thelma "Babe" Short of Sudlersville and Rebecca "Lena" Thompson of Chestertown; and brothers Joseph Walls and Clifton Walls, both of Crumpton; along with 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his stepchildren, Robin Seward of Barclay, Wanda Kozur of Ingleside, Paul Allen of Bridgeville, Del., and Belinda McDowell of Felton, Del., and 10 step-grandchildren.

One son, the late Joseph Walls, predeceased him in 1994.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25 (today) at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery.
