Services for Joseph Dean Nix, 52, of 908 E. Marion in Newton, will be held in the St. Thomas
Catholic Church in Newton. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, also in Newton, the Fr. Richard Peridotto officiating. Visitation will be at the Crain Funeral Home in Newton, with prayer service.
Mr. Nix died at 8:35 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 1986 at the St. An-
thony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Mr. Nix was born Nov. 21, 1934 in Clay County, the son of
Coelestin Nix and Margaret Kessler. He married Zeoy Frichtl on
Oct. 26, 1957, who survives.
He was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton.
He was also a veteran and member of the Tri-County Bikers Motorcycle Club. Mr. Nix was a butcher at the former Nix Meat Market, now known at Lovell's Meat Market.
Including his wife, survivors include: two sons, Dan and Sam at home; two brothers, Norbert Nix of St. Marie and Delbert Nix of Ingraham; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Ochs of St. Marie and Mrs. Georgianna Kuhl of Wendelin; and his father of St. Marie.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
