Richard was the son of Walter and Corrine (Richard) Brunelle.

Richard was a veteran of World War II, 3rd Army 90th Infantry Division, serving under General Patton. He fought in five campaigns in the European Theatre including the Normandy Invasion.

Richard was married in Elizabethtown, N.Y., on Feb. 2, 1948, to Barbara (Faford) Brunelle.

Richard was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Brunelle; brother, Eugene; and sister, Aline.
