"Mo", was born in Tacoma and moved to Bremerton with his parents in the late 1930's, where his father started what would become a longtime career as a manager of the Bremerton Lumber Company. The lumber company was once located on the Bremerton Waterfront, where the northern portion of the Bremerton Harborside complex sits today.
Mo graduated from Bremerton High School in 1945 before serving in the Army in post-war Japan. After service, he attended Washington State University and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1952.
Beginning in the early 1950's, Mo worked as part of the chemistry and materials engineering lab at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). There he specialized in testing plastic sealants for ships and submarines, retiring in 1984.
It was at PSNS that Mo met his future wife, Ardith (McCann), " when as the story goes, she nearly hit him with her car at the shipyard crosswalk". She made him smile, and they married in 1959 staying together until his death.
From 1980 until the early 21st century, Mo was an active and trusted volunteer for the Crisis Clinic of Kitsap County. He was also a long time member of the Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bremerton.
Mo is survived by his sister Rosalind of Bremerton, wife Ardith, and sons and daughter and granddaughters
