Worked as a Farmer and in 1900 listed as Justice of the Peace. Passed away at home at Ivory Station, St Louis County, Missouri where he had lived for 48 years.

An article in the Dodge City Globe 17 Apr 1902 that said H.C. Wright was General / President Ulysses S. Grant's friend (and neighbor) He was also an uncle to Robert Marr Wright the founder of Dodge City. He was also the provost marshal for St. Louis during the civil war under Lincoln....
