James W. Helvie Sr.
MONTICELLO —James W, Helvie Sr., 54, Rt. 6,
Logansport, Lake Cicott, died at 4:45 a.m.
today in his residence.Born June 4, 1937, in
Burnettsville, he was the son of Leonard and
Winifred Blackman Helvie. On June 29, 1957,
in Idaville, he was married to Stephanie L.
Brockman, who survives.
Mr. Helvie had lived in Cass County, in the
Lake Cicott area, for 23 years moving from
Burnettsville.
He was an auto body repairman for several
years, operating his own shop.
He was a member of the C.C. Riders Motorcycle
Club in Flora.
Also surviving are one son, James W. Jr.,
Indianapolis; three daughters, Louisia Pratt,
Idaville, Jamie Peters, Logansport, and Brenda
Malchow, Rt. 1, Royal Center; two brothers,
Edward Scott, Logansport, and Lee,
Fulton; one sister Sandra Ranee, Logansport;
and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in
Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, with the Rev.
Scott Saltsrnan officiating. Burial will be
in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in
the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
American Heart Association.
