Beatrice "Bea" Waneck went home to the Lord Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the age of 86 at Heritage Healthcare of Blue Ridge, Georgia. She was born in Hondo, Texas to Robert and Gertrude Zerr. She was married to the love of her life, Joe F. Waneck for almost 60 years. Miz Bea was an avid seamstress creating beautiful dresses and gowns for her two daughters. She was always busy with church activities at St. Patrick and St. Gregory Catholic Churches in San Antonio, Texas where she lived for 65 years until she moved to Blue Ridge, Georgia to be near her daughter, Gail. She was always involved in organizations at Incarnate Word Elementary and High School where her daughters attended from 1955-1970. She nursed stray animals including tortoises and flying squirrels with loving care. If something needed to be repaired in the neighborhood, everyone knew to go to Miz Bea and she would have just the thing to fix it, whether it was a broken zipper or a broken heart. She is survived by her daughters, Gail DuFresne and Jan McCoy, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She leaves happy memories of big smiles, big parties and big hugs. Her love does not die at the grave. It is planted in our spirits. A memorial Mass at St. Gregory's Catholic Church will be held in April followed by services at Ft. Sam Houston National cemetery.
