John A. Overman, age 86, of Peshtigo, WI, passed peacefully Thursday December 21, 2023 at Rennes Health Center East of Peshtigo, WI. He was born March 5, 1937 in Wabash, Indiana To the late John M. Overman and Mary (Unger) Overman.
On June 21, 1958 he married Eva M. Knutson at St. Anthony's Church in Marinette and resided in Peshtigo.
John worked for many years in his father's garage, Overman Truck Service, Unit Structures and Badger Paper Mills for 39 years from where he retired in 1999.
John loved time with family and friends, Country Music Festivals, snowmobiling, camping, deer camp with his sons and friends, and enjoying a can of Old Milwaukee Lite.
He is survived by daughter Holly (Steve) Schonfeld of Peshtigo, WI;
two sons: David (Julie) Overman of Marinette, WI and Anthony "Tony" Overman of Peshtigo, WI;
his sister Sharon Enderby of Marinette, WI;
brother-in-law Jim (Linda) Knutson;
sister-in-law Peggy Knutson of Marinette;
his Grandchildren: Joshua (Bert) Schonfeld, Derek (Jenny) Overman, Jamie (Jon) Good, and Brandon, Jacob (Melanie) Overman and Christian Overman;
Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great-Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva;
a son James "Stick" Overman;
his parents;
a brother Charles "Richard" Overman;
a sister Pam Block;
brothers-in-law: Mike Block and James Enderby;
and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held January 6th at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon with service to follow. Internment after service at Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
