E. S. Buckley

Eugene Sadler Buckley died in the Grenada Hospital Saturday, December 2nd. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Rogers, assisted by Rev. McCafferty, were held the following day from the Trewolla funeral home here. Interment was at Vaiden.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Buckley, the deceased was born August 9, 1879. He was educated in the schools in Vaiden and Carrollton and at Millsaps College.

For many years Mr. Buckley was a salesman in Kentwood, La., and Columbia, Miss. Later he traveled for a Baltimore firm and then opened a store of his own in the delta. In recent years he made his home in Winona and had worked at Camp McCain.

Mr. Buckley was a Southern gentleman of the old school— kindly, generous and thoughtful of the sensibilities of others. He was ever ready in an unostentatious way to help others to an extent little known to the general public. He had a profound faith in God.

He leaves one sister, Miss Beulah Buckley of Winona.
