Barbara Zimmerer, 76, passed away at 4:04 a.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Primrose Retirement Community. She was born the daughter of Philip & Lucille (Rademaker) Hipskind on September 14, 1937 in Marion, IN.
Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Bennett High School in Marion, and a 1958 graduate of the Holy Cross Central School of Nursing. From 1959-1963 she worked for Dr. Max Earl, 1969-1991 St. Joseph Hospital ICU, and in 1991 did travel nursing in Lakeland, FL. She was a resident of Bradenton, FL from 2001-2012. Her memberships included St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kokomo, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradenton, and Holy Cross Central Alumni.
She is survived by her children, Diane M. (James) Hoagland, Kokomo, Greg M. Zimmerer, Brownsburg, John B. (Kaley) Zimmerer, Logansport, Tony L. (Shari) Zimmerer, Tampa, FL, Susie M. (Chris) Sprinkle, Indianapolis, grandchildren, Kyle Wheeler, Gabriel Hoagland, Grant Hoagland, Samantha Zimmerer, Lauren Zimmerer, Madison Zimmerer, Ava Zimmerer, Mia Zimmerer, Josiah Sprinkle, Noah Sprinkle, siblings, Pauline Libengood, Sally Vollmer, Tom Hipskind, Joe Hipskind, and sister-in-law, Joyce Hipskind. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, John Hipskind, Mary Ann Spahr, and brother-in-laws, Doug Libengood, Jerry Vollmer, and sister-in-laws, Jenny Hipskind, and Lois Hipskind.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1220 N. Washington St. Kokomo, IN, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013 with Rev. Fr. Marty Sandhage. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden.
