Minnie L. 'Nana' McLewis

LAMARQUE - Minnie L. "Nana" McLewis of Warrenton, Missouri, formerly of La Marque, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 10, 1999, at the Greentree Nursing and Care Center in Warrenton, Missouri, at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 22 days.

Nana was born to John and Lizzie (nee Ball) Winters on January 19, 1906, in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. She was united in marriage to Thomas Franklin Scott in 1926. To this union were born six children. He preceded her in
death in 1965.

She later married Fred Dean McLewis on February 1,1948, in Galveston, Texas. He preceded her in death
on July 23,1980.

Nana was a homemaker, moving to Warrenton, Missouri in 1991 to live with her granddaughter, Nancy. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Warrenton, and a former member of Paul's Union Church in La Marque.
She was a member of Paul's Union Church Lydia Circle, the Deborah Circle and the Alvina Burch Circle, and the
Rebekkah's Lodge.

Survivors include, one son, Charles Edward Scott of Warrenton, Missouri; one granddaughter, Nancy Butler and
husband, Timothy of Warrenton, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Ashlee Butler and Scott Allen Butler, her twin sister, Myrtle Pipenjer of Wynne, Arkansas; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Thomas and Fred, 5 children in infancy, six brothers, three sisters and one grandson, Mike.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 11, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. from the Nieburg- Martin Chapel, with the Reverend Mike Blackwood, officiating. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 1999, at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas, with Pastor Dojuglas McBrayer, officiating. Local
arrangement under the direction of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque

Memorials may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church, in C/O the Nieburg-Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main, Warrenton, Missouri, 63383
