Theodore E Hanson was born 17 June 1889 in Preston/Blair, WI. He was son of Emil T Hanson (Skyrud) and Anne MARIE Nilsestuen Hanson. He had eight siblings. On October 7, 1917 he married Lillian Myrtle Boleng Hanson in Blair. She was daughter of Chris Larsen Boleng and Bertha E Kittelson Boleng (both buried in Arcadia).

Theodore and Lillian had the following children:
