Dorothy M. Lind, 79, of Kersey, passed away on Sept. 2, 2011 at Life Care Center in Greeley. One of nine children, she was born on April 1, 1932 in Galeton, Colo., to Henry and Edith (Williams) Stanberry.
Mrs. Lind lived her entire life in Colorado. She married the love of her life, Albert Lind, Sr. in 1950. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage together, farming in the Eaton, Wiggins, Platteville and Kersey areas and then operated Kersey Welding & Repair until Albert's death in 1999. She was a member of the Kersey Community Church and Kersey Cowboy Church. Dorothy was a great homemaker and loved cooking for her family and friends. She was known throughout the community for her cooking, and no one left her house hungry. She loved Dutch-hop dancing, playing cards and reading. All who loved her will miss her warmth, selflessness and courage.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Duckett of South Carolina, her five children, Albert (Joan) of Kersey, Henry (Pam) of Cuero, Texas, Harry (Sharon) of Gunnison, Dan (Ann) of Hemet, Calif., Valerie of Charlottesville, Va., 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Lind, Sr., one sister and six brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the Kersey Community Church.
