DeWitt B. "Rusty" Counts, 76, of 616 Webster Drive, Decatur, Georgia, passed away shortly after 3:00 PM on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia after a brief illness. He was born on September 19, 1937, in Bristol, VA, the son of H. DeWitt and Francis Kearfott Counts. He graduated from Virginia High School in Bristol in June, 1955. He lettered in four sports in high school; football, baseball, basketball and track. He was an undefeated Golden Gloves Champ. He attended the University of Richmond. He joined the U.S. Air Force in September, 1956, and was honorably discharged from the Air Force after seven years of service in February, 1964. He worked for the DeKalb County Public Works Development Division of DeKalb County, GA, from July, 1971 until he retired in January, 1997 at the age of 59. -
