MUNCIE- Lois Mae Oliver, 85, departed from this life Thursday morning, November 21, 2013 at her home.

She was born on December 8, 1927 in Muncie, the daughter of Vernon and Clara Dragoo.

Lois married her husband, Harold Eugene Oliver on March 4, 1951. They celebrated fifty-six years of marriage prior to his passing.

Survivors include her son, Rodney A. Oliver of Muncie; daughter, Stephanie E. Ayres (husband, Morris) of Dublin, Georgia; grandson, Dylan Ayres; granddaughter, Angelic Wood of Muncie; two great-grandsons, Jayson and Travis Wood; a sister, Betty Clock of Gaston; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Oliver in 2007; her son, Gary V. Oliver in 2002; her daughter, Debra Jo-Ann Oliver in 2012; her parents; two sisters, Violet Shields and Phyllis Delk; and two brothers, Jack and Junior Dragoo.

Lois was very active in her community. After her husband passed, she began volunteering at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital. This was a highlight to her week and the family appreciates the friendships she made.

She began attending Bethel Church in 1957. The congregation became an extension to our family. Her children wish to thank the church members for their love and support during their Mother's health issues.

Lois was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed watching the game and discussing it with friends and family. One of her favorite memories is when the church went to a baseball game.
