Bryon was born in Brazil in 1869 (his parents left Texas in 1866). The Nettle family returned abt 1881. Bryon worked for the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad and was murdered by a fellow employee train conductor while working as a railroad detective in the Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). He was apparently killed outside of Colbert, Bryon Co., OK before crossing the Red River and entering Denison, Texas. Bryon's corpse was identified by his brother David O. Nettle and returned and buried in the family cemetery in Freestone Co., TX.
