After an illness of only two weeks, Mrs. Olevia Francis Tawes, wife of Mr. John P. Tawes died at her home on Cove street, Crisfield, at 9.30 o'clock last Wednesday evening. Heart trouble was the cause of her death.
Mrs. Tawes was born on Nov. 28th, 1862, and her maiden name was Pruitt. She was thrice married, her first husband being the late Albert Horsey, her second husband the late "Squire" Oliver S. Horsey. Eleven years ago she was married to Mr. John P. Tawes, who survives her.
The deceased had lived in Crisfield all of her life, and was loved and respected by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. She was a devout member of Mt. Pleasant M. P. Church and was active in church work. In her death there passed into the great beyond a good christian woman whose life had contributed much to the welfare of the world.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Claude Burton, and by one grandson, Mr. Albert H. Quinn. Funeral services were held from the late home yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. C. M. Elderdice, pastor of the Mt. Pleasant M. P. Church, officiating. Interment was in Crisfield Cemetery.
