Kenneth D. Hinders, 85, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1928, in Butler County, son of Ben and Gerty Brunns Hinders. He married Lillian Hovenga and they later divorced.
Mr. Hinders attended country school and had worked at Rath Packing Co., and also owned Ken's Pawn Shop, among other businesses.
Survived by: two sons, Randall and Jim; a daughter, Debra Pugh; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a son, Kendall; his parents; three brothers, Ben, Hank and Jacob; and three sisters, Gert Adelmund, Ann Boekmann and Lois Hinders.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday at First Church of the Open Bible, 928 Jefferson St., Waterloo 50701, preceded by an hour of visitation. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is assisting the family.
