MRS. ROSELLA SLOANE; VENERABLE SISTER OFTHE LATE DR. WILLIAM BUSHNELL

Mrs. Rosella Sloane, who had been a resident of Mansfield for well nigh 70 years, died shortly before noon today at the home of her son, Martin B Sloane, on Maple Street. She was in her 90th year, and for one of such advanced age was remarkably active and well preserved.
She was of a family known for somewhat remarkable longevity, her brother, Dr. William Bushnell having been in his 94th year of his age when he died, and another brother, Thomas Bushnell having died near the age of 80 years.
Mrs. Sloane was born in Trumbell county Sept. 3, 1810, and in 1832 moved to this county and settled on a farm four miles south of Mansfield where she continuously lived until a year and a half ago when she came to make her home with her son. She was married April 24, 1828 to Col. J.W. Sloane, who died in 1876. Eleven children were born to them, of whom four sons, Sterling Sloane of Chitopa, Kansas, William Sloane of White Cloud Kansas, J.O. Sloane of Omaha, and martin B. Sloane of this city; and two daughters, Mrs. Reese Martin of Oklahoma City and Mrs. S.A. Gass of Lexington, survive. Mrs. Sloane was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
